Old Town Roasting

A full rebuild of my father's coffee roastery store, founded by Shawn Anderson in 2011, with real subscriptions, on-site card processing and an admin built around roast day.

The problem

The old store couldn't run subscriptions properly, and in August someone pushed 107 stolen cards through its checkout in a single day. My dad needed a shop that works on its own and a back office that matches how a roaster actually works.

What I built

  • A storefront where every coffee gets its own panel in its label's colours, with tasting notes, roast level and add-to-cart right there.
  • Subscriptions for 1, 2 or 4 lb a month that customers can skip, pause, switch or cancel without calling anyone.
  • Dunning: a declined card is retried three times over nine days with emails, then the subscription pauses and the owner is told.
  • On-site checkout through Authorize.net, so card data goes straight to the processor and never touches the server. Hardened against card-testing attacks.
  • An admin built around the week: a Roast This Week list that totals pounds per coffee and grind, a ship queue that emails tracking automatically, refunds, subscribers, prices and messages.
